Experience a Peru trip full of mystery and excitement. First you will visit the Ballestas Islands, natural refuge of sea lions and marine fauna; continue with a wonderful overflight of the enigmatic Nazca Lines in Peru.

In the Ballestas Islands, located right beside the Paracas National Reserve, you will observe a large variety of marine fauna such as Humboldt penguins, sea lions, seagulls, and several coastal bird species.

The main attraction of this Peru trip is the Nazca Lines. The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs located in the Nazca desert. These Nazca Lines are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, llamas and lizards.

There are many theories that attempt to explain the meaning of the lines and almost all of them contribute to their study with some important aspects. One of the explanations indicates that the Nazca Lines were sacred roads that must have been walked on in peregrination, the trapezoids being ceremonial plazas. Paul Kosok and Maria Reich sustained that these figures and lines could be related to the constellations, the solstices and the equinoxes and that their function was to serve as a great astronomic calendar. The Nazca Lines are an enigma. No one has really proof who built them or why. Since their discovery, the Nazca Lines have inspired fantastic explanations.
